Electric scooters and electric bikes are becoming more and more popular.  They are an easy to use and clean means of transport, especially in urban environments.  However, there are an increasing number of fires in homes which are caused by owners charging their e-scooter or e-bike lithium batteries and in 2021 Transport for London (TfL) banned e-scooters from London's transport network due to a number of fires on the network involving these vehicles.
